Every Album Review

This is a review of the brand new album from [insert_band_name].

We all remember their debut album which went gold and the singles which were played on the radio.

Their sophomore release was still pretty strong because it was mostly all tracks that were written at the same time as the first album but didn’t make it on to their debut release.

Then [insert_band_name] released their controversial third album that changed their sound and alienated their original fans. This was a result of a lineup change or signing to a different label.

Then they did the obligatory live album/compilation/rare and unreleased tracks to fulfill an obligation to their record label.

Years of nonstop touring and recording took its toll on the band members and while they didn’t officially announce a breakup or hiatus, they disappeared out of the spotlight for a while. Now they are back with a new album for the first time in many years!

The new album from [insert_band_name] tries to harken back to their roots, but the band members are all 10 years older and you’ve changed, too.

I’m going to throw in a word I looked up in a thesaurus because as a music critic, it is of paramount importance that I maintain an esoteric, holier-than-thou attitude over the reader.

Now after leading you on with several paragraphs of filler, we move on to the actual album review. There are a few tracks that make you remember what first drew you to like [insert_band_name], but overall the album has a slower pace that really showcases the band’s progression as mature songwriters. It will be critically acclaimed but will be met with bittersweet ambivalence from the band’s fanbase.

6/10 stars
